I had a very interesting dream the other night. In my dream, I met someone I thought I knew. When I woke up, I couldn't recall ever meeting that person. After thinking about it, I am positive I have never met that person. Perhaps that person does not even exist.
Have you ever felt deja vu? This got me thinking. What if my life is nothing but a dream? Maybe this blog does not even exist.
Some people say that if you pinch yourself and it hurts, you're not dreaming. I tried it once in the middle of a dream and it hurt. After the conclusion of the dream I woke up feeling confused.
Is it possible that my entire life is a figment of my own imagination? Perhaps the sky, the trees and the people around me are part of a dream.
If a dream feels real while we sleep, how do we know we’re awake?

It may not even be of consequence where we are, because, no matter what life may actually be, we work within its framework. It's like playing Monopoly. Yes, there is a life outside it - but to win at Monopoly, its rules must be played by, even if it's just a game.
Life is not so easily left behind and ignored as a game of Monopoly of course. And, as opposed to Monopoly, we lose our existence as we currently know it when we leave "the game" that is life. Further opposed to Monopoly, we don't know what it's like once we get up from the "gaming table". But it may not matter what awaits us on the other side, and what the other side is, because we could only be held accountable for our choices within the realm we knew how to deal with.
So, in closing: No, I do not know where I am. But I if I did, it might not be of any help to me, because the mechanical rules that govern the realm my existence is based in would still apply to me, and there would be no way to leave that realm anyway. It would be like fish in an aquarium that a cover has finally been pulled from, staring out into a living room or restaurant setting. And maybe that is why we have no concept of orientation as to true reality - we wouldn't be able to use it.
